Notice is hereby given that the department of transport services will not be available from the 9th October 2025.

Pioneer Pathway is inviting community members to share details of private or small cemeteries located on private property in the Shire's of Goomalling, Dowerin, Wyalkatchem, Nungarin and Merredin.

The Council is seeking two passionate community volunteers to join a working group for the development of the Nungarin Recreation Centre & Caravan Park Precinct. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a project that will serve locals and visitors alike—bringing fresh energy, diverse perspectives, and community pride to the heart of Nungarin. We’re especially keen to hear from younger residents who want to make a difference and have their voices heard. Whether you're a student, a young professional, or simply someone with ideas and enthusiasm, your input matters.

An Ordinary Postal Election will be held on Saturday, 18 October 2025 in the Shire of Nungarin to fill the following vacancies: District 3 Councillors 4 year terms Nominations Open on Thursday, 28 August 2025 Nominations Close at 4:00pm Thursday, 4 September 2025 Nominations must be lodged with the Returning Officer: • at any time during the above period by arrangement; or • between 2:00pm and 4:00pm Thursday, 4 September 2025 (close of nominations) at the Shire of Nungarin, Railway Avenue, NUNGARIN.

You may be eligible to be enrolled to vote in the local government elections on 18 October 2025 if you live in or are an owner or occupier of rateable property in the Shire of Nungarin. You can enrol or update your details online, or download an enrolment form, via the Western Australian Electoral Commission website (www.elections.wa.gov.au/enrol). Forms are also available from the Australian Electoral Commission (www.aec.gov.au). Enrolments and updates must be completed and received by 5:00 PM Friday, 22 August 2025.

The City of Subiaco presents the 2025 Craig Silvey Award for Young Writers! The awards encourage imagination, innovation and creativity in students across the state! Western Australian school students in years one to twelve are invited to submit an original piece of prose writing, no more than 2000 words in length. There is no theme for the award, please check the website for full terms and condition. Entries are now open and close on Monday 11 August 2025 at 5.30pm - we can't wait to read your stories and see where your imagination has taken you!

The Nungarin Refuse Site will now revert back to weekly Tip codes due to the misuse of Refuse Site Access.

The 7 Shire's of the NEWROC are participating in a study with the Wheatbelt Development Commission to analyse housing demand for workers. Notice of Special Council Meeting 11.03.2025

From the 1st March - 31st March 2025 the Shire of Nungarin will be in a Restricted Burning Period and a Burning Permit will be required.

As well as a TFB there will also be a Harvest Ban for Today the 17th January. Harvest Ban will be until 6pm.

Please note the Harvest Ban for Today the 16th of January has been Lifted (At 4pm) and there will be a Total Fire Ban for Tomorrow the 17th of January.
