Ranger Services

The Shire Ranger can investigate compliance within the community with the various local laws adopted by Council including - parking, thoroughfares, dogs, local government property, fencing and health. The Shire generally only investigates complaints where full contact details are provided. The Shire maintains complainant details as confidential, however, these are subject to the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 1992.

Snake Removal

Dog and Cat Registration

Under the provisions of the Dog Act 1976, all dogs within the Shire over the age of three months must be registered. Registration is carried out at the Shire offices during normal office hours and is available for 1 year and 3 year periods or lifetime, commencing on 1 November each year.

Fees are as follows:

Annual Registration of a Sterilised Cat or Dog $20.00
Annual Registration of an Unsterilized Cat or Dog $50.00
Three Year Registration for Both Sterilized Dogs and Cats $42.50
Three Year Registration for Both Unsterilized Dogs and Cats $120.00
Lifetime Registration for Both Sterilized Dogs and Cats $100.00
Lifetime Registration for Both Unsterilized Dogs and Cats $250.00

Pensioners are entitled to a 50% concession for Annual, Three Year & Lifetime Registrations

Microchipping for cats and dogs is Mandatory in the ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC & WA

For Cats, Sections 14 & 23 of the Cat Act 2011 requires microchipping of cats prior to transfer/sale and by 6 months of age.
